• FEDERICA SEVERINI – CURRICULUM VITAE AC STUDIORUM


    Federica Severini, was born in 1996 in Mercato San Severino (SA) and started to play the violin at six years old. She obtained the final diploma cum laude at Conservatorium San Pietro a Majella of Naples. She graduated in violin and chamber music at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome with Sonig Tchakerian and Carlo Fabiano. She obtained the final diploma MAS (Master Advanced Studies) with M. Klaidi Sahatci at the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in Lugano and she is a student of M. Francesco Manara at Milano Master School. She is also a student of M. Accardo at W.Stauffer Academy in Cremona and at international Chigiana Academy in Siena. She obtained a scholarship as one of the best students of Stauffer Academy in Cremona and she played as soloist in Teatro Eliseo in Rome with Orchestra da Camera Italiana directed by M. Salvatore Accardo. She is actually 1st Violin Tutti at La Verdi Symphony Orchestra in Milan and she won also the audition for Tutti Violin at Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale RAI in Turin.

    She is a member of the Orchestra Academy of Teatro alla Scala, where she was selected as Concertmaster for the years 2017-19. She was also invited to play in Tiroler Festspiele Orchesterakademie at Festspielhaus Erl directed by M. Gustav Kuhn. She was selected as first violin of Ensemble Bernasconi of Accademia Teatro alla Scala and she was involved in a concert dedicated to Frank Zappa for Stresa International Festival, Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome and Teatro Valli in Reggio Emilia directed by Kristjan Järvi and Peter Rundel. She was also selected as Concertmaster for the American Tournée of Accademia Teatro alla Scala, directed by Ivan Fisher, and she played in the Auditorium of Maryland and Princeton Universities and at Peter Jay Sharp Theatre in New York. She was also selected as Concertmaster of the Chamber Ensemble of La Scala Academy for a concert at Al Bustan Festival in Beirut and for a concert at Almo Collegio Borromeo in Pavia. She has been selected as leader of the Orchestra for the concert “An Italian Opera Journey” at King Fahad Cultural Center in Riyad.

    She was chosen by the Brazilian choreographer Ismael Ivo to play at his contemporary ballet show “Mishima” during the famous “Ravello Festival”. She has recently won the first prize at the “American Protégé” international concerto competition and she played at the famous Weill Hall of the Carnegie Hall in New York and the Dinu Lipatti International Competition in Rome, where she was awarded a violin by the luthier F. Gyorke. As a member of Trio Pragma she won the second prize at the first edition of the International Competition Antonelli in Latina, first prize at Magliano Sabina International Competition, first prize at Jacopo Napoli International Competition and first prize at Leopoldo Mugnone International Competition.

    A strong interest in contemporary music led her to play at the Biennale Festival in Venice with an international ensemble and she won two scholarships at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia for the project “La Nuova Musica”, all dedicated to contemporary music. She participated in the Festival “Assoli” in Accademia Filarmonica Romana in Rome and at the Festival Play It in Florence all dedicated to contemporary music. She is also member since 2018 of Divertimento Ensemble in Milan, specialized in contemporary music. She was also selected as first violin of the Ensemble 900 of the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland for the concert “Polifonie” that took part in Auditorium Stelio Molo of Radio Svizzera Italiana. She is a former member of OCI (Orchestra da Camera Italiana), directed by M. Salvatore Accardo, where she played also as Associate Concertmaster of the first violins and Concertmaster of second violins. She played in several orchestras, such as Cameristi della Scala, Teatro San Carlo of Naples, Teatro Verdi of Salerno, Solisti Aquilani, LaFil Orchestra of Milan, Young Talents Orchestra, Orchestra Cherubini, Orchestra Corallium as Concertmaster . She worked with several conductors: R. Muti, Z. Metha, D. Coleman, D. Gatti, I. Fischer, P. Sorokin, J.Goritzki, M. Mariotti, P. Steinberg, J. Valčuha, E. Schwartz, T. Guschlbauer, P. Carignani, W. Hermanto, A. Chauhan, P. Fourniller, J. Santonja.

    She recently recorded a CD, “Romantic Echoes”, with the pianist Pier Carmine Garzillo for the label Luna Rossa Classics of Corrado Productions.

    She actually plays a Romeo Antoniazzi violin made in 1912.
